Me and Fish Keeping Hobby

I always have keen interest in fish keeping. I often google for tips on keeping fish in aquarium. I have an aquarium back at home with 8 african cichlids. I have certain criteria on choosing the fish. I don't like gold fish, I'm more to rare tropical freshwater fish like african cichlids. If I have bigger aquarium, I want to put black ghost knife fish. The main features of this fish is that they can swim vertically and swim horizantally while their body is completely vertical. Ana calls them 'axis fishes', as in the Cartesian axis (x,y,z) and yes, they can swim backwards too. As for african cichlids, they have a large number of colourful variants. These colourful features usually can only be seen in saltwater fishes only. These fishes are quite hardy and can live in community of their own. So, putting them in a school of 8 like I do, with the variation of colours like bright yellow, electric blue and orange really live up the tank. But beware, african cichlids are not 'social', so keep only this type of fish if you have small aquarium like me. Rest assured, putting them only is enough to make your tank beautiful. The passion of keeping fish does not end at home, I also keep a betta spelenden (Siamese fighting fish) in my room at UTP. It is purple with shades of white at the end of the fins. It is very beautiful and feed mostly on dried tubifex worm cubes.

Printing Your Own Graph Paper

Being in engineering study requires me to use a lot of graph paper for plotting the result graph in my weekly lab reports. I find it hard to get graph paper of my choice since logarithmic graph paper is very rare in the market. I always use logarithmic scale for my electrical and electronic engineering assignment and lab reports. I wish I could print the graph paper from my own printer. Well, I found this Graph Paper Printer software from the Internet. You may visit the authors page here and the best part is, it is a FREEWARE! This little software allows you to print various type of graph paper available. Even so, you may create your own custom graph paper too! The software is simple and pretty self-explanatory. A minimum printer's resolution of 600dpi is required, compatible with all printers available in the market now. Download this little software now and save the unnecessary spending of buying graph paper.

Sekolah Kluster and Universiti Apex

Feeling bored in my room. So I just browsed the net, I dropped by at government-biased newspaper Utusan to update myself with current issue. As usual, reading the local politic news article is undoubtedly government-biased, I clicked on 'Pendidikan' (Education) section. I learnt that my beloved Alma-mater, Sekolah Dato' Abdul Razak (class of 2000-2004) had been listed as one out of 30 schools that is receiving 'Sekolah Kluster' title. With this recognition, the schools are entitled to apply for financial support worth up to RM 500,000 from the government to implement the predetermined programs or activities. This is a very good sign for SDAR to step up the school's reputation and achieving excellence in education. Full news link here.

As for Universiti Teknologi Petronas (where I currently studying) has undergone selection process for 'Universiti Apex' program. This status will give the enlisted university to have autonomous power in financial, procurement scheme, management, student enrolment, high committee and tuition fees price. I hope UTP will be selected into this program as the result can be made known this August. I was informed that my friend Nasrul from Civil Engineering had presented a presentation to the selection panels regarding the Civil Engineering Department. I am very proud since I belongs to these two education institutions. Read the news here.

Hari Keluarga Digital Art Competition 2008 (DAC 2008)

Hehehe~

Logistic and Ceremony Department

Save more with Hydrofuel

The recent fuel price hike has made NGV system is so popular among road users in Malaysia. Despite the expensive installation cost, NGV system has proven to give the road users to save up to 70% on fuel expenses. The drawbacks of this system are the big and heavy gas tank need to be installed that eats up the boot space, high installation cost, engine's horsepower reduced and extra maintenance is needed for the engine and the system.

Well, with the ingenuity of a local engineer, Dr. Halim has created a new system that can reduce the fuel consumption up to 50% minus all the drawbacks offered by NGV system. The system is called Hydrofuel. Hydrofuel is basically comprises of three components, the Hydrofuel module, the water tank and the electronic gauge. How it works? Now, recall your secondary school science. The basic principle of this system is to inject hydrogen rich air to the engine's intake, increasing the content of hydrogen in the fuel as fuel is hydrocarbon. The fuel consumption is reduced as the combustible hydrogen content now is richer, so less fuel is needed. How can we get the hydrogen? It is as similar as the hydrolisis process where it breaks the tap water into oxygen and hydrogen. But in Hydrofuel system, the hydrolisis process is done using high-frequency electric pulse found the Hydrofuel system. Then the hydrogen is fed to the airbox of the engine and go straight to the cylinder. The hydrogen production rate is proportional to the engine's RPM, so don't worry about explosion from the hydrogen gas. The 5 liter water tank placed at the boot of the car can lasts up to 2000 km usage, depending on the driving characteristic. As the installation is totally external does not involve with the original engine system itself, the car's warranty is not void upon installing this system while theoretically maintaining the engine's performance. Rejoice, drivers!

This is where the water is breaks up into hydrogen and oxygen

The water tank placed in the car's boot

This little device informs the driver about water level and system's status

Technical aside, this system comes in two packages, namely Hydrofuel Basic and Hydrofuel Advance. Hydrofuel Basic is expected to be tagged at RM 1300 and can be used with carburetor and EFI (electronic fuel injection) engine. Hydrofuel Advance is expected to retail at around RM 2300++ and is meant only for EFI engine. The installation time is expected to take around 2-3 hours depending on the car. Both packages is only for engine less than 2000cc for now. Future research is underway for the engine with higher capacity. These product is yet to be launched and still under the process of testing and getting approval from JPJ and Puspakom. They are expected to be on sale around September this year.

Another product from this company is MySmart Fuel Saver. This little device is expected to provide up to 18% on fuel saving. The device corrects the reading from the engine sensors before the data is fed to the car's ECU (engine computer unit). This result in more accurate data acquisition and allow the ECU to work efficiently and reduces fuel consumption. This device is on sale now with the price tag of RM 499 (currently on promotion of RM 399). This device can be paired with Hydrofuel Basic system later to get the fuel saving up to 50%. MySmart Fuel Saver is only for EFI engine.

Kejohanan Teakwondo Terbuka Rakan Muda Selangor

The crowds

It's a good experience for you.

Nina tergamam selepas dibelasah...

Penyokong setia

Seperti dijangka, prestasi Wajihah tidak menghampakan walaupun die malas nak buat warming up.

Orang lain warmup b4 match, die bace komik plak. Bajet terer arh tu...

Kaki seorang juara... kononnye~ yucks!

Final match. Wajihah in blue vest.

Papehal pon, I'm proud to both of you. :)

Sekian.
