Keinsafan, Kegilaan, Kelegaan

#1: KEINSAFAN

I clocked-out for yesterday at 1815hrs. Gearing myself up with jacket, gloves, face mask (it's smoggy day as usual) and helmet, I rode my bike home. The traffic volume can be considered low as it was not school holidays and I was riding at around 80 km/h - 100 km/h and constant all the time. Working at the yard yesterday really made me tired and I don't have any intention to ride fast on my way home yesterday.

Then, I turned into Jalan Sukepi at Jenjarom and I rode even slower as I don't want to do a horseback ride there, the bumps are just too much for the motorcycle to absorb. If unfortunate enough, I might suffer from backpain afterwards. Then I turned right, passed by SMK Jenjarom and thankful enough, the students had already went back home. If not, it will be a major traffic hiccup there, you might take 30 minutes to get out from the 1 km traffic jam to the Klang - Banting trunk road.

I finally reached the junction into the main road. Weirdly, the traffic jam was so terrible. It is unusual to have traffic jam here although the traffic volume is high, the vehicles can still moving. I carefully rode between the vehicles to get out from the traffic jam. Now I know the massive traffic jam was caused by an accident involving two lorries and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist died with his innards splattered on the road, probably he was ran over by the lorry. Some of the innards sticked on the lorry's registration plate too. The situation quickly snapped my emotion, I continued riding at constant speed without much overtaking and 'cilok'ing. The awareness suddenly came into me and reminded myself to be more careful when riding motorcycle.

This morning, I passed by the accident spot and everything was cleared like nothing happened yesterday. Instinctively I was slowing down when passing the place and then I sped up again averaging at 110 km/h and safely arrived at my office. What a brief awareness... Ride safely!

#2: KEGILAAN

Somebody asked me for a reset. Human feeling reset. I just agreed with that person and we rebooted ourself like nothing happened before. I don't know where the crazyness came from, and shockingly, I am the one who initiate the reboot although that person is the one who suggested the reset. Anyway, I think I will just go with the flow as I am a crazy person! Hahahahha~

#3: KELEGAAN

Finally, the tagging works for KAKG-A genset are finally complete! The only hard-to-reach area for today is to install coolant level switch at the huge radiator. The obstacle is tagging the incoming cables at the ECP (Engine Control Panel) where the glands are closely installed to each other. I faced difficulty identifying the cables that run to the both rig savers so I have to trace the connection from the rig savers to the ECP. When I identified them, I saw the cable markings on the bottom side. Hampeh. There are also 'hidden cables' that happen to be W004 and W003 cables connected to the MDEC. Then, there is also new cables that are currently not exist in the electrical interface drawing. With the help from project engineer, Mr. Hafidz, I finally tagged the cable as power cable for alternator's space heater and alternator's RTD. With that, every cables inside the genset have been successfully tagged. What a relief! I went back to the office before lunch time. Phew~

Panjat Memanjat

6th Gear!

Some of you might not know that my current project now is on KAKG-A 1200 kW genset for PETRONAS. Thankful enough, this is the genset with large skid, meaning the canopy height is as high as our house. Therefore, I can save myself from backpains due to working in hard-to-reach area and limited space.

As usual, I have been entrusted to facilitate the E&I (Electrical & Instrument) work for the genset. That means, I have been working with numerous P&ID and electrical interface drawings prior to do the work on-site (I mean inside the genset).

Today, I went to the yard (after countless visits just to find the switches and transmitters were not fitted yet) to do the tagging works. There are several additions and amendments in the genset installation that need drawing update. Then, I proceed with the tagging work and I managed to get the job 80% done. Another 20% will be completed hopefully tomorrow. I need to tag all the lights and IR (Infra Red) flame detectors that are mounted at the ceiling of the genset. So, I will need more climbing tomorrow. Today I just climbed the big MTU engine to tag both of the rig savers and the alternator to tag the vibration switch.

The MDEC (MTU engine control unit) is not hooked up yet, so the engine can't be started. The F.A.T (factory acceptance test) is scheduled on the 28th this month. Quickly evaluating the current progress, I believe this is achievable. If there is delay, it will be for just 2 or 3 days lag usually caused by late delivery of essential items. To all fabrication yard staffs, project engineer and contractors, keep up the good work!

OGA 2009 Coverage

Yesterday I managed to attend OGA 2009 (Oil and Gas Asia 2009) exposition held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). The exposition opened on 10/06/2009 and will end 6 p.m. today. The exposition is opened only to the oil and gas companies, persons related to oil and gas industry and students that are doing studies related to oil and gas.

Take the picture of the location you park your car to avoid any problem (read: lost)

I went there with my other three colleagues from my workplace, Synergistic Generation Sdn. Bhd. and my company also set up a booth at UMW Oil & Gas booth (SGSB is now a subsidiary of UMW Oil & Gas group).

UMW Oil & Gas Berhad

The exhibition hall is so huge that there are six exhibition hall to visit! I only managed to visit half of them and there are a lot of latest technologies and equipments related to oil and gas industries exhibited there. The exhibition is really an eye-opener for me where I found the latest technologies are offered especially for oil and gas exploration. There are eye-poker here too, where the hot chicks greeted me at Philippine National Oil Corporation booth. For this blog brevity, I won't posts the pictures of me playing mini golf with this Philippine hotties on this blog. :P If you want to find out, rush to KLCC now, there is still time. Hehehehe~

I also met with my friends who are currently doing intership like me there like Abang Zayd (Pipeline Engineer, Petronas Carigali? You've striked out the word 'trainee' there!) and some other friends like the recently graduated Anas from UTP, my classmates; Nisha and Rashidah. Most of them are currently doing intership at various levels of both towers at KLCC. Weird enough, Petronas did not set up booth like Shell and Exxon-Mobil did. What a shame.

With Anas, my foster-brother during Rakan Muda Wawasan Desa 2007 at Kuala Kangsar

We head back to Shah Alam after paying hefty price for the parking ticket (RM 10.50 for 3 hours?!) at 5 p.m. We arrived at our office in Kota Kemuning at 6.00 p.m., just in time to clock out! The visit to OGA 2009 is really beneficial for me and I will look forward to attend the next OGA in 2010 to find for a job. :P

Where is PETRONAS?

Before we leave...

Smog Alert!

El Nino finally hit Malaysia! The hot weather is expected to last till September this year. Gosh! How I would survive in the deserted Tronoh for the next two months after my internship? I just wish my body will keep fit surviving the erratic weather nowadays.

This hot season also trigger the open fire and causes smog in the affected area. My home in Banting and my workplace in Shah Alam is badly affected with smog and I would not risk myself riding motorcycle to work until I buy a face mask. So, currently I am hijacking my dad's Waja to work. It is school holiday now so I would not mind driving car to work since the road is clear and jam-free. But the smog had ruined the fun of speeding along the wavy route along the Jalan Sukepi dragstrip, Jalan Balam dragstrip and Jalan Kebun dragstrip. The smog limits my visibility and I drove slower than the usual (usually around 120 - 140 km/h).

The driving has become tricky due to limited visibility and some ignorant driver did not switch on their headlights and overtook in smog, causing danger to other motorist. So, I hope they would switch on the headlights especially in the morning where the smog is worst.

As for me, I hope I won't fall sick due to smog and hot weather since I do a lot of works outside. Please drink a lot of water to prevent from dehydration. I just took pictures on my way to work this morning to show to you how worst the air pollution in Banting and Klang. I can't hardly seen the cute school students that are walking to school for extra class during holiday. :P

The smog is so bad till I can't really see their cute faces :P

Bulat Buapak menjadi Lembaga,
Bulat Lembaga menjadi Penghulu,
Bulat Penghulu menjadi Raja.
